BJ

BJ’s natural curiosity and inquisitiveness led her to study both the physical and philosophical aspects of yoga in 2001. Finding these methods exceedingly useful both on and off the mat, BJ dove deeper into her practice when she moved to Penticton in 2017 as a way of engaging with like-minded people. She went on to receive her yoga teacher training from the South Okanagan Yoga Academy and is now an RYT-500. In addition to guiding alignment focused classes, BJ also brings her experience with yoga philosophy, trauma-informed yoga, yoga nidra, pranayama, meditation, Qigong, and Buddhism to her classes. DARCIE
TEACHER
Darcie has tended to take the scenic route in life and her yoga journey is no exception. She was introduced to Yoga at 18 when her volleyball coach integrated Yoga into every practice. For the next 10 years all Darcie knew is that Yoga made her feel good, and she kept coming back again and again with random practises in church basements, school libraries and community centres. It wasn’t until she became pregnant with her first son, and went to prenatal yoga with the BeHive’s very own Lalita and Shauna that she realized the her ‘why’ of Yoga. During that special time in her life, Yoga offered a doorway inward to embrace her rapidly changing body and mind and all the emotions and learnings that came with that.
Darcie‘s personal daily practice has evolved over the years as she continues to learn from many yoga teachings. She’s a RYT - 500 hr SOYA graduate, level 2 Pain Care Aware Trained and Trauma Informed teacher. With certifications in Yoga Vinyasa for Youth, Yoga Nidra and Pre and Post Natal Yoga.
Most students comment that they leave Darcie’s class feeling strong, rejuvenated and smiling.
